MY CAMPAIGN

Op-ed: Why I'm Running
I’m Mike Dixon, a lifelong Queensbury native, and I’m running for Town Supervisor in 2025 to bring principled, transparent leadership to our community. With nearly 30 years in healthcare management at Glens Falls and Saratoga Hospitals, I’ve honed skills in strategic planning and budgeting. As Ward 3 Councilman and former Planning Board member, I’ve seen what works—and what doesn’t—in local government. Queensbury deserves more, and I’m ready to deliver.
Our town is at a crossroads. Families and retirees want affordability, safety, and opportunity without losing the charm that makes Queensbury home. My five-point plan addresses these needs head-on. First, I’ll streamline town operations with a comprehensive audit to cut redundancies and keep taxes low, while launching an online portal for residents to track projects and spending. Transparency builds trust, and I’m committed to both.
I’ll make Queensbury a hub for small businesses by reducing red tape and offering incentives to fill empty Route 9 storefronts. Promoting eco-tourism in our Adirondack backyard will create jobs while preserving our natural beauty. Fiscal responsibility is non-negotiable—I’ll review the budget to eliminate waste, protect essential services like public safety, and hold public forums to keep you informed.
Families are Queensbury’s heart. I’ll advocate for fair, sex-based sports programs to ensure equitable opportunities, especially for girls, and expand youth recreation to give every child a chance to thrive. Public safety is personal—fully funding our Sheriff’s Office and EMS ensures rapid response times, while sensible short-term rental regulations will prevent disruptive “party houses.”
I’m running to serve you. My work ethic, sincerity, and deep roots in Queensbury drive me to make our town stronger, safer, and more affordable. On November 4, 2025, I humbly ask for your vote to lead Queensbury forward with integrity and action.
